Goodbye Cee-Lo and Christina. This season of the popular singing competition “The Voice” has mixed up the judges for their fourth season. Blake Shelton and Adam Levine welcomed in Shakira and Usher with open arms. Even though their tough love tactic seems intimidating, the new judges seem to hold their own.
Shelton has perfected “the finger” scheme in which one knows they are wanted on his team when he begins to point at the top of his head. Along with “the finger,” he has also initiated the “Miranda is my wife” and “I have winning experience” lines. These tend to make Shelton hard to overlook; his chances of winning once again are as high as ever.
Levine has perfected the “you are very good looking” scheme, as useless as it sounds, it is quite tempting for females. The cold shoulder between Levine and Shelton has brought up brotherly rivalries that make Levine winning so much more exciting with the anticipate for Sheltons reaction.
Usher, while new, has attracted those who don’t feel fit with Shelton’s country feel, don’t fit with Shakiras pop approach and aren’t interested in Levines good looks. The Usher type are those who have a more rap feel. And he has perfected “My man Justin Bieber is back stage” lines which are hard to reject for the typical teenager.
Shakira, while new, has attracted those who she has inspired since they were young. She also attracts those who speak Spanish, with her “I speak Spanish too” and she hooks those who connect with her background; contestants want a coach they can relate to.
