Tennis players earn award, place high

Girls tennis just received a plaque because they earned 1st place as a team at sectionals. This is the first time in school history for girls tennis. Yesterday was their first competition in state. It’s a 3 day tournament. They compete against districts 211 and 214 including Barrington. They edged out Lake Park and Rolling Meadows by 1 point during their season.

Varisty coach Kristen Fisher said that she is “very happy that these girls did this. They worked very hard, and practiced 5 to 6 times a week. To be in tennis you need to work very hard, and yes, indeed, these girls did.”

Junior Jelena Vujanic played number 1 singles and two freshmen played number 1 doubles: Jovana Vujanic and Lauren Oda. Both made 1st at sectionals and 3rd at MSL conference.
