The day has finally come. The much anticipated release of Taylor Swift’s fourth album debuted on Oct. 22 and the question is why. Why didn’t Swift’s album release on the 13, because all her fans know the number 13 is almost her favorite thing—second to her cat, Meredith. Well, for those who actually bought the album found a previously unreleased song on the CD that is titled 22.
And after the chorus, listeners discover it makes more sense than previous thought because on Dec. 13 the musical sensation turned 22. As for her CD as a whole, well, no complaints have been made. It is hard to critique perfection, that’s for sure. Her tune while it has evolved over time has still managed to stay distinct and admired. What exactly is proof that this album is worth being number 1 in 40 countries? Well in less than 12 hours RED sold over 105,000 copies, just at Target stores!
Unlike most albums her and her label, Big Machine Records, decided to release a song every Monday for a month leading up to the most significant Monday, the 22 of October. Her first release, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” broke even her own records with those her aren’t attracted to her music finding the urge to purchase it.
The song “Red,” which is the album title as well, is featured in a Target commercial promoting her CD and it is no secret that fans jump off the couch at excitement every time it airs. It is hard to resist the urge to rock out when her flawless face appears and her connectable lyrics come out of the television speakers.
Her songs from this album are bound to break more records, gain more fans and win her more awards than ever imagined. And fans, brace yourselves for one unforgettable tour with more magical effects than ever before. We’re bound to be blown away starting on 3/13/13.
