Cameras flash everywhere. The spotlight is constantly on her and the media follows her everywhere. At red carpet events she is the one to look at during the night. People around the world watch her every move and wish they could be her. This woman is a fashion icon.
She is always up to date with the fashion trends and is always chosen to represent designers.
Many actresses and models today try to reincarnate fashion icons. Twiggy, Audrey Hepburn, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy and Princess Di are some of the women who have paved the way for actresses today.
Fashion is everywhere but it would be nothing without the models. The women and men that wear the outfit create the image.
This image is key for the designer. He or she wants people to visualize celebrities in their clothes. People are more inclined to buy clothes when someone they “know” is wearing it. Celebrities endorse many products and designers because it makes them well known around the world.
When I think of Jackie Kennedy or Audrey Hepburn I think of pearls and Chanel. They are classic women. Their poise and elegance is always in style.
Marilyn Monroe is known for her sexy, seductive look. She was every man’s fantasy and every woman’s envy.
Every single one of them had a look and stuck with it. They were molded into this “ideal woman.” Some people think this was a cage and that’s why most of them turned to drugs and alcohol, but I’m not so certain about that.
They represented a type of woman from their era. Their image branched out and touched billions of people across the world. Not even politicians have this effect on people.
I believe that they stand for everything that is beautiful, sensual, confident and charismatic. I wish I was one of them, but then I wouldn’t be me. That’s the big thing about these ladies, they never blended in. They went against the flow and never copied anyone.
The big question is this. Why, decades after their time, do people continue to replicate them?
It’s simple. They mirror everything a woman wants to be. I feel like I’m beating a dead horse, but confidence is key. You’re never fully dressed without it.
Confidence is what wraps up the whole wardrobe. It allows you to strut your stuff without a care in the world.
Do you think that Marilyn Monroe ever asked if her outfit was OK? No, she didn’t.
Fashion icons sell confidence. Why do you think people buy their clothes?
I fully believe that fashion beauties are plentiful. but beautiful women are rare. I’m talking about inside and out.
Remember these women when you get dressed or go shopping. Always keep this in the back of your mind: what you wear doesn’t define you, but how you represent it, does.
