The new Pokémon game, which comes out later this year, offers new creatures to collect.
Much to the excitement of many gamers and hardcore “Pokémon” fans, two new games are due to release globally later this year in October. The new titles adhere to the duality pattern seen in the latest titles, and they are “Pokémon X” and “Pokémon Y.”
Neat, huh? I think so, and these latest installments come with (drum roll, please!) a new generation of cute monsters to collect. That’s right—generation 6 is on the way!
This new generation comes with three new starters, and boy, are they total cuties.
There’s the fire-starter Fennekin, who is not-so-loosely based on the desert-dwelling fennec fox; then there’s the water-starter Froakie, who is a nervous (and foamy) little frog; and finally there’s Chespin the grass-starter (my personal favorite) who looks like it may be based on a muskrat. Of course, that’s always debatable.
Along with these three new starters comes two new legendaries, each allocated to a certain game. This means that if someone were to want both legendaries in one game, they’d either have to buy both games, or make a trade with another player.
This usually isn’t a problem for “Pokémon” fans, though.
Both legendaries are mysterious in appearance and nature, and may be the most creative starters as of late.
There’s Xerneas, who is very deer-like in appearance, and who is a staple in “X.” Following Xerneas is Yveltal, who is a bird-like legendary that will be appearing in “Y.”
In order to play either game, a Nintendo 3DS is required. Both games will have a completely 3-D overworld, and gamers best be prepared to say “goodbye” to sprites, because those are out.
As technology advances, so does the world of Pokémon, and I cannot wait to meet all the new faces.
