Joseph’s Tech Blog: Analogue 3D Console and the Nothing Phone

Here’s a look at a few tech updates featuring a revolutionary gaming console and a new rival to the iPhone.

Analogue’s new console — known as 3D — takes N64 cartridges and displays the game in 4K definition. The console, aimed to be released in 2024 according to the company, supposedly supports every region of cartridges.

The new console also includes 2.4 GHz wireless controllers with four of the original ports available as well, allowing the use of the wired controllers from Nintendo with the ability to recreate certain television aesthetics despite not emulating the console at all. The company even states that it will not run from copyrighted files, which should prevent issues in that area in the future.

The Analogue 3D console will be the predecessor of the Analogue Pocket 3, which is a multi-retro console that runs games natively. The consoles include Game Boy, Game Boy Color & Game Boy Advance with adapters available for Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Atari Lynx & more. However, the Pocket 3 is a 32-bit system while the 3D is 64 bits to be able to read the N64 cartridges.

Along with that, Analogue 3D also uses FPGA (Field Programmable Grid Array), which allows it to act like the original hardware of an N64 console despite not being the same. This is also why it has a promised 100 percent compatibility with all of the N64 games. It is not region-locked to one area (US, EU, JP) unlike the original console, which should be expected due to being in development for three years now. As of now, price and additional features are being determined as said by creator Cristopher Taber.

Nothing Phone 3 Updates

Apple vs. Android is a debate that’s been going on for years. With the new iPhone 15 on the market, an Android alternative may be the Nothing Phone 3, a phone similar to the iPhone 15.

The Nothing Phone 3 is a phone designed by Nothing(R). Nothing(R) is a carbon-neutral tech company based in London with the goal of making tech simple. It is speculated that Nothing(R) will be the next generation of phones. This could possibly be their first third-generation product that has been rumored to be released at some point in 2024.

Sources have also stated that most people will look for battery life in a phone more than anything else. According to a survey done by Statista in November of 2018, the Nothing Phone 3 is speculated to meet the expected battery requirements by having a 4800 mAh battery compared to the iPhone 15 series, which have a range from 3349 mAh to 4422 mAh based on testing done by tomsguide.com.

People also look for storage followed by great camera quality. The Nothing Phone 3 is rumored to have 128, 256, & 512 GB models according to usdmobiles.com, with the iPhone 15 matching the same amount. However, the camera quality is where it makes a difference. The Nothing Phone 3 is rumored to have 50+48+8 MP cameras while the iPhone 15 has 2*12 & 48MP cameras.

Both phones are supposed to have 6.7-inch screens, which makes them similar in size. While none of the specifications are confirmed with the phone, its rumored specs would make it on par with the iPhone 15,which is why it could be an alternative phone to consider.
