Spanish club grants cultural experiences

Every other week after school, Spanish club is making more plans than ever. With Homcecoming past, the club is now focusing on what will happen in the coming weeks and months. Of course, it’s not all planning. Every meeting is filled with activities that pertain to Hispanic culture.

“During our last meeting we cooked quesadillas and made homemade guacamole,” Spanish teacher Leslie Guimon said.

A visit to a nursing home to do crafts with the residents is being planned. In December the members plan to decorate Christmas trees in downtown Des Plaines.

The Spanish club meets every other Tuesday in room 230. It is sponsored by Spanish teachers Pamela Coté and Leslie Guimon. Guimon made sure to mention that “if students would like to further their learning of Hispanic culture, learn and speak Spanish, and meet new friends, then the Spanish club is the place to be!”
