Elk Grove’s varsity boys water polo started off their season with a huge win against Hoffman Estates. Senior players Adam Doruff, Bart Strozik, David Dragne, Cory Hicks, and Jacob McCabe all worked together to beat them, 18-1. “I just want to win and have fun. We are like a family,” said Strozik.

Varsity had a tournament at Highland Park this past weekend, but unfortunately they did not find success. Barrington, Highland Park, and Deerfield all participated in this tournament.

Meanwhile, the JV team has not had any games, but they are warming up for the season ahead. “It is a lot of introduction to a new sport for the athletes. We’ll work hard at the basics to prepare them for following seasons. Basic skills in this order: swimming, ball control, rules, and strategies,” said Coach Dave Toler.
