Makeup is one of the best inventions brought to women. Brushes, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lipstick are the “foundation” for a versatile makeup bag.
Well, here comes the infamous speech about makeup and what it does to your pores.
Sorry, that’s not my job. Frankly, I would hate for that to be my job because somewhere along the road that leads to science. That is not my forte and I would like to stay as far away from it as possible.
Trust me, I’m doing you a favor. The one thing I can tell you: the right brand for your skin.
My skin is excessively oily and sensitive so I tend to search for oil free and hypoallergenic products. Everyone’s skin is different and is susceptible to many factors like breakouts or nature. The ranges of skin type are oily, sensitive, combination, or normal.
As I’ve said before, I’m not 100 percent certain what the science is behind all the makeup and skin, but the only way I figured it out was by trial and error( and from the help of my mom).
One major tip I have that most of you already know, is that pre-makeup skin is essential. The lotions and face scrubs you use will affect the outcome of what kind of makeup and how much of it you use.
Also makeup removal is essential. I never listened to my mom about this and boy, was I completely wrong. Makeup wipes will be your best friend because it gets rid of makeup and any impurities left from the makeup.
When I started using makeup I began with Clinique. It was perfect for my pre-teen skin. Clinique was made for teens and even adults with an acne problem and sensitive skin. Everything is hypoallergenic and oil free. It still gives you the beauty that you want on your face.
Macy’s, Nordstrom,Bloomingdales, and Lord and Taylor carry Clinique. It may be on the expensive side but is worth every penny. A couple companies I’m all too familiar with are Bobbi Brown, MAC,YSL, and Chanel. These companies are most definitely expensive but they come in such pretty little boxes that a girl can’t resist. Even Sephora carries these brands.
My favorite part about buying makeup is the women behind the counters. They know everything
(I mean they have to it’s their job). This is how I learned what products to use and which to stay far away from. Aside from my female relatives, the saleswomen were my saviors.
I’ve always been about the labels. It has been engraved into my brain since I sported my first Louis Vuitton bag from Paris when I was five. Once I became a teenager, I realized that I could never afford all that glam.
It dawned on me that Walgreens,Wal-Mart,CVS, and Target were to be my makeup outlets for awhile. I always, always buy in bulk. It makes it so much easier especially with mascara. It always runs out for me.
I always use Cover Girl or Maybelline because I’m a sucker for their commercials. Every time I see a new mascara ad I have to buy it. The best part is that their makeup is not expensive and it works wonders on my face. You can never go wrong with store brands.
My newest obsession is BB cream. It works wonders and has great coverage. Sometimes you can’t even tell I’m wearing any.
Trial and error: that’s my motto. I take chances and laugh at my mistakes. Makeup is like an experiment you never know what brands will work but it sure will be fun finding out.
