Working out and going to an actual gym can seem irritating and boring, but if the exercising is in the privacy of your own home. It is fun and enjoyable. Here are some video games that allow you to exercise while having fun.
Just Dance
“Just Dance” is a video game for the Wii, it is social and interactive. Ubisoft has released four editions of the game and every game they have improved it. The first game has songs like “Who Let the Dogs Out,” and “Step by Step,” then the last installment has popular songs like “What Makes You Beautiful.”
“Just Dance” has a section called “Just Sweat It Out.” In this section, a player can choose to dance consecutively for 10, 25 or 45 minutes. It also includes work out sections, personalized exercise programs and a calorie counter.
“I think its a great way to have fun with your friends and I also think it makes us work out because when I hang out with my friends we get tired after two hours of playing,” freshman Natalie Nava said.
Wii Fit
Very similar to “Wii Sports,” “Wii Fit” allows players to feel like they are getting a full workout without working too hard. “Wii Fit” includes a balance board that serves a scale. Either way, Wii Fit allows people to enjoy themselves but without going out of their comfort zone.
Wii Sports
“Wii Sports” is a game that allows you to practice in different sports. It has baseball, bowling, tennis and boxing.
Then the game also includes a fitness test for players to see how gradually they are improving in the various sports that are offered.
Kinect Adventures!
“Kinect Adventures!” is only for XBOX Kinect. Since Kinect does not require the player to hold a controller because all movements are captured by a censor and a camera. This makes the game very easy to play. Without the hassle of a remote, you can jump, dodge and crawl and you will not have to worry about it. This game is not only fun but it gives one the opportunity to experience a workout.
Dance Dance Revolution
“Dance Dance Revolution,” or more commonly known as DDR, is one of the most popular calorie-burning video games. Available for various game systems like the Xbox, Playstation and Wii, DDR was the first video game that gamers could exercise but at the same time experience the feeling of dancing.
