Classic books censored

In this year, the American Heritage Dictionary was banned by a school board in Missouri because “it contained 39 objectionable words.” This brought into question of book censorship at EG, which this author discovered wasn’t really an issue. Both the librarian at the time, Betty Laliberte, and the superintendent, Stephen Berry, stated that they had never had a book taken off the shelves and there hadn’t been parents or students that’d asked to have something removed in years. Laliberte believed that “one of our heritages is freedom of speech, and it is very important.”
