A fire broke out in the Elk Grove High School gymnasium and could have caused serious harm. Lieutenant Dave Miller of the Elk Grove Fire Department said, “The fire had spread up the gym mats to the bleachers and up the walls of the roof.” No one was harmed, and it took about thirty minutes to extinguish the fire. The Fire Department concluded that the fire was a deliberate act, but there were no suspects at that time.
