Boys track is in the midst of a successful season. Runners are working hard during practices in order to make vast improvements for meets. Coach Brian Bucciarelli said, “The season is going well, kids are competing and making strides every meet.”

Although the season is going well, there are still expectations that should be met. Bucciarelli said, “The expectations are to continue competing, compete well at the conference meet, hopefully get a couple of kids down state the sectional meet.”

These goals seem that they will be met since the team is very dedicated to perform well. “If the team does not win a race they want to improve, a lot of dedicated guys that want to compete” said Coach Bucciarelli.

Many runners deserve some recognition for having a significant impact for this successful season. Disc Thrower senior Danny Dalenberg, Triple Jumper

senior Azeez Alabi and Pole Vaulter senior Carmen Galgano had a great season which led to them to be invited to the Wanner Invitational at Prospect High School. The Wanner Invitational is the most prestigious meet in the state of Illinois.

The team had a great performance at the East Divisional Meet, placing fifth. Dalenberg took first place with a throw of 163 feet in the discus competition which was under five feet from breaking the school record.

Alabi competed well by placing second in the triple jump. Senior Fulton Wingba reached 6’0” in the high jump, which was three inches away from qualifying for state.

The 4×100 relay team consisting of Alabi, Galgano, Junior Dominic Schiavone, and Junior Marquis Friend took first place at the BATE invite.

Boys track is looking forward to completing a great season. Their season has been very successful with individuals breaking their own personal records.
