Small poetry slam nets big results

Liam McCarthy, Sectional Editor

The first Poetry Slam took place on Monday,

November 23, this year, and though it was very well-attended, only three poets competed. So they all took home prizes. Senior Sean Lehning came in a first place, senior Ed Vere took second and junior Juliana Vercillo placed third.

Each participant was able to perform three pieces of their own poetry, while three judges gave them a score. The judges consisted of teachers Eleanor Pattie, Steve Lesniak, and John Bottiglieri. The whole thing was planned out by Write On Club sponsor and teacher, Mary Larson.
